VBS Night 5 and Sunday closing ceremony

I can't believe that we finished our first VBS at our new church building. It was amazing to see them really listen, and take to heart what we have telling them all week. I will miss seeing all of them.

Today was fun to see them perform their songs in front of their parents. It was a little hard for me to do the moves to the songs as I was sunburned yesterday during a garage sale. They did a great job.

VBS Night 4

It was a great night tonight. It is so awesome to see little ones decide to accept Jesus as their personal Savior. It was also wonderful to not have to discipline as much tonight. I was really able to enjoy myself.

After VBS was over with, I had to head to my hometown instead of my apartment due to bad storms in the area. Luckily it has blown over, and fixing to head back to my apartment.

VBS Night 3

Tonight was another great night for VBS. We played kick ball, and learned about passover. It was great to see the kids really get into the story and music. I can't believe that we are already finished more than half of VBS this week. I pray that I will be able to make it through the rest of this week with an enough energy.

Dance Recitals, Friends, and VBS

For two weekends straight, I attended dance recitals. One for a child I used to take care of, and the other for my cousin. Both did great at their respective recitals. My favorite dance my cousin did was "From a Distance." She wore the green dress (as shown above) during that number. She had begged me to come and see her recital. Luckily everything worked out, and I was able to attend both recitals.
Between both weekends of recitals, one of my best friends came to visit me for a couple of days. Since it was spur of the moment, I decided not to try to get off work (which she understood), and we had a few hours each day to catch up and do things. She and I had a great time together, and I am glad that she came to visit.
VBS started on monday night, and we had a great first night. We had a few kids in my group who had a hard time getting used us and the church, but overall we all had fun.
Tuesday night was much the same way in terms of fun, but the kids were testing my buttons on the limits that I placed on them. I hope that the rest of week is full of more fun things to do, and that we enjoy our time together.

June and VBS!!

Ok. I can't believe how time has flown. I just spent this past weekend in Lubbock visiting family and attending a dance recital. My cousin had been asking me for weeks on end to come and see her performance. It worked out that I didn't have two different recitals to attend on the same day. I had promised a child that I used to take care of that I would attend her dance recital first so I prayed that everything worked out. It did work out and for two weekends straight I went to dance recitals. Both did a great job at their respective recitals. It was also the first time that I got to see my aunt and uncle's new house despite the fact that they had been living there for several years. Many things had required my time and therefore I could not be there.

As of Monday night, Vacation Bible School at my church began. I was with the 1st and 2nd graders again this year. There are a few children that I have had 3 years in a row since their first time with me I was doing pre-k/kinder. We had some new kids who were having to get used the church and us as a group. Another special thing about monday night was that it kicked off the 1st VBS at the new church facility.

Tuesday night was just as a much fun even though I had to discipline some of the kids by reminding them what they were supposed to be doing. I had a ton of fun watching the kids pick up on lessons that were given to them. I can't wait until I can take the little ones I care for to a VBS even if it is near where they live.

Happy Easter!!!!

It never fails to amaze me how quickly time flies. It seems like Christmas was yesterday. This year, unlike last year, I was not sick so I was able to do easter activities with the kiddos. We made bread in the shape of bunnies, we did an easter egg hunt, and went to Barnes and Nobles. We had a lot of fun. The kids were ready for more egg hunts.

This year, my family easter was different. Instead of celebrating easter on sunday, we celebrated on saturday. My dad worked, and therefore did not go bowling with my mom, my brother, his girlfriend, and me. We really enjoyed it, and want to play together again.

Concert, wedding, news

Wow! There has been a lot of things going on for last couple of weeks.

To start off with, I have been with the family I work with for a year since Feb 21st.

I went to the Mark Schultz concert the next day, but the nice part was that I could finally go with family friends of mine who had originally were planning to come with me the first time I met him and go to his concert. It was their Christmas gift to me.
I also went to my best friend's ("big sister") wedding. She was beautiful, and her wedding was awesome.

I even caught her bouquet. My 1st catch ever!!!!
