Rain, Kids, and Restore

We were so lucky to be able to have more rain here. I praise God for all of it, as well as pray for those in the path of Hurricane Alex. I pray that there is no loss of life, and minimal damage of property. I also pray that we will soon have the oil spill cleaned up and fixed.

The kids did very well today until right around the last two hours that I was there. They were having a party for daddy, and we were decorating and making a cake as well as cleaning up. I know part of it was due to the rain, being hungry (had no snack until later), and being excited about the party. I can not wait to hear about how it went.

I am part of a community group that is called Restore. This is time where I can sit with other people to study the bible, pray, and fellowship. We recently finished reading and discussing a book called Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus: Discovering the Jewishness of Jesus. I do not remember the names of the authors, but I totally recommend the book to anyone. It really made me think, and realize that I do not know the Old Testament as well as I thought I did. Tonight we watched the movie The Gospel of John. It is wonderful so far, and I can not wait to see the rest.

I have two friends who are pregnant right now, and their babies will be coming at any time. I pray that God will be with them, and that both babies are healthy.

Thunderstorms, kids, and crazy atitudes

What a day! I had a wonderful night of sleep last night, which made my day start out great! Got to work, and that started off wonderful too. We had a great time at the library today. We did storytime, and then had a picnic at a gazebo with friends. They enjoyed running around and dancing while we were there.

After getting back from our activities, Lady Bug decided to throw a tantrum and lost her book as well as one toy from her bed. She slept well, and then Monkey decided to throw a fit when I told him it was time for a shower. He took one and then fussed again when it was time to get out along with Lady Bug fussing due to the thunder from a storm that was coming in.

Monkey was fine after that, but Lady Bug chose to be defiant when I told her to pick up puzzle pieces. She was put into time out several times and was denied a hug and kiss bye from me since she was headed to time out at the time. I hope she picked up the puzzle pieces.

It was wonderful to get all the rain we got today. It was definitely a blessing. I hope we get more just not get a flood situation.

Dance day

Today was a really good day. The kiddos and I left the house today to go bowling and go out to lunch. Their dish washer is not working properly so there really was not a lot clean dishes with which to use for lunch. Their was totally cool with it, and the kids had a great time.

It was really nice to see a friend at dancing who I have not seen 3 weeks. We see each other every week on Thursdays to go dancing. Then she left for a week, and missed one dance day. Then I had a prior commitment to go to last Thursday, and I missed dance day. So it was great to see her again.

Long Day

Today has just been a super long day for me. I did not sleep well which did not help my mood at work. The kids are fine, but Lady Bug was definitely pushing my buttons today. This was especially true around nap time when she refused to listen to my words. Although we are finally getting some where with her potty training. I only hope that we can now see the light at the end of the tunnel with it. I am ready to be done with it and move on to something else. Also we are pretty much saying good bye to night time diapers too. Their mommy thinks that since she has done well during naps, and for the most part nights, we can move on to night time pull ups. Yay!! I am so excited about it. We will finish the few diapers she has left and then move on to night time pull ups. So hopefully everything works out well for us on that.

Other than my mood issue at work and being bored now, I am doing much better than I did yesterday evening. I am glad that I was able to get all of that down so that I do not have to let that ruin my life or stress me out. I still have my desire of a husband and a family, but I know that I will have that soon though I do not know when.

Reflection

I have been watching videos on youtube today, and the song "Reflection" from movie Mulan seems to fit me very well.

'Look at me, you may think you see who I really am, but you'll never know me. Everyday it's as if I play a part. Now I see if I wear a mask, I can fool the world, but I can not fool my heart.'

Most people see me as this very happy person with a great job and life despite being single. I love my job and life, but my desire for a husband and family of my own is becoming more and more important to me everyday. Most do not see that, but that is my true desire.

'Who is that girl I see
Staring straight back at me?
 When will my reflection show
Who I am inside?'
My reflection is not always me.
I am now In a world
where I have to hide my heart
 And what I believe in
But somehow I will show the world
What's inside my heart
And be loved for who I am
Sometimes it is hard for me to hide things about my self from the world when all I want to do is show the world.
Who is that girl I see
Staring straight back at me?
Why is my reflection someone I don't know?
Must I pretend that I'm
Someone else for all time?
When will my reflection show
Who I am inside?
I hate having to pretend something I am not or something that I do not have as of yet.
There's a heart that must be free to fly
That burns with a need to know the reason why
Why must we all conceal
What we think How we feel
Must there be a secret me I'm forced to hide?
I do not want to hide who I am forever. I hate having to hide the real me.
I won't pretend that I'm
Someone else
For all time
When will my reflection show
Who I am inside?
When will my reflection show
Who I am inside?
Who I am inside?
One day soon I hope to show my real reflection of myself with my most special desire.

Back to Normal Routine

Yesterday was great though it was tinged with sadness. The main nursery worker at my church lost her grandfather the day before. I am continuing to pray for her. Since she was not present at the nursery, I stepped in (I am the back up nursery worker). It was great to just take care of a sweet baby, but I was hoping to be able to be in the service and help out with the music for the VBS closing ceremony. I was allowed to come in to watch the kids sing, and then I took the baby and one other child back to the nursery. It was nice to see the amount of kids we had there, but wished more could have shown up. I am so thankful that I have great friends willing to use my camera so that I can look back at the video of the kids doing the music and seeing the pictures since I had my hands full with the baby.

Now that VBS is over with, and the kiddos' grandparents have returned home; we are back to our normal routine. I am so grateful that their grandparents were down as it allowed me to be able to help out more with VBS, and that they were able to spend time with their grandparents and their mommy could spend time with her parents.

Now we just need to figure out our weekly schedule so that we do not get stressed out or falling apart. This week will show what needs to be accomplished. We also need to finish reading the Secret Garden so that we can start working on Tale of Despereaux. Lady Bug wants to go see it at the free movie event at the end of summer. I am hoping this helps Monkey get over his fear that it will be a scary movie. Luckily we are about 100 pages away from being done with the Secret Garden book. I can not wait to show them that movie.
